Approach & success factors

In consultation with the client, it was decided to accompany the evaluation and subsequent development of this business area by introducing an advisory board. The core tasks of the advisory board are strategic consulting, support in important decisions, and acting as a senior sparring partner. A partner from boost4S took on the role of chairman of the newly created advisory board. In regular meetings (at least once a month), the first step was to work out the guidelines for the new business area together with the managing director. The guidelines ranged from the basic business mission and the distinction from the current business area to a clear statement that the new business area must not threaten the existence of the existing company, even in the event of failure. In the following months, the advisory board critically monitored the development of the business plan as well as the discussions and decisions among the shareholders. The search for suitable management and support for the establishment of the company’s own production facility in southern Germany were the focus of the following quarters. Currently, the advisory board’s work is focused on the internationalization of sales.
